CarComplaints.com Notes: Here's a disturbing trend for the 2002 Nissan Altima: the engine starts burning oil like crazy, the catalytic converter goes bad, the head gasket blows and eventually the entire engine needs replacement. Sound familiar? Like a script from a horror film, these Altimas seem doomed to fail around 95k miles.

I just bought a used Altima 2003. The heater works fine (for now anyways), but when I start the heater on, say 1st level of airflow, it produces an annoying rattling noise below the glove box, but not glove box itself. I looked everywhere, tried pushing on the glove box but it doesn't change anything. I concluded that it seems like / sounds like some kind of fan near the front passenger's legroom. Very annoying!!! Stupid Nissan. Can't make normal cars.
