The Altima has 170k miles. We-€™ll taken care off. I was driving to work and out off nowhere the car lost power the speedometer stopped working and wouldn-€™t show me how fast I was going and I had to stopped and it lost all power. I tried looking everywhere for the problem to fix it and they told me they couldn-€™t get the part and told to come here and hopefully this helps, at the moment I dint have enough money to buy a car. The car has not been inspected but but the cops Or insurance. There were no warning prior to this accident it happened outta no where.

Driving home from a physical therapy appointment, I entered my street apps 1/4 mile from my house. I depressed the gas pedal to go up a slight incline. At this point the engine accelerated as the gas pedel was totally depressed. The car continued accelerating. Out of fear for other drivers, I tried to turn to a side street on the right, an 1/8 of mile from my house with foot on the brake and nothing on the gas. The car fishtailed causing the car to severe a telephone pole and a stop sign on the end of that street. The car was totalled. I was not cited by the police.

While driving down the expressway, all the warning lights on the dashboard lit up and the speedometer dropped to zero. I coasted and pulled off the side of the road, turning off the vehicle. I then restarted the vehicle and proceeded to drive off, only to experience this same problem several more times. It is currently at our mechanic's, but they are having difficulty troubleshooting the problem. This problem initially happened while my wife was driving home from work. She explained the problem, I took the vehicle out for a drive and it did the same thing.

I attempted to pass another vehicle and my car began stalling and I had to immediately pull over on the same side of the road as oncoming traffic.had I been on a bridge or been followed closely by another car it could have caused an accident. I placed in park and attempted to restart the car several times before it started.I called petro Nissan and they said it sounded as if the cam or drive sensor was going out. I drove cautiously to the nearest Nissan dealer(mossey) in houston. They did diagnostics on it but could not find the cause. When I arrived at the Mississippi river bridge in baton rouge I approached at 70mph but on the bridge I could not get the accelerator to respond to keep me above 50 mph. I felt I would have stalled had the bridge been any steeper or longer. It was very scary but I managed to make it over and experienced no further problems. I took it to petro the next morning on Thursday and it has been there since. They have not been able to diagnose or re produce the symptoms. Today, they are consulting Nissan factory engineer.

I was driving on the interstate and I put the car in cruise control. The car comes off cruise control and I enter it into cruise control again. The same results happen. Then I notice my RPM accelerating and my mph decelerating. I knew I had to pull my vehicle over to the side of the road immediately. As I'm switching lanes my car starts to smoke profusely and I say small flames from the front of the vehicle. Nissan affairs refuses to fix my vehicle because it is exactly 1, 918 miles outside of the warranty. Although, my transmission blew prematurely.

Starting in 2011 every once in a while the cruise control lights started blinking which disabled the ability to use the cruise control. The vehicle had to be turned off and restarted to reset the lights and be able to use cruise control. This became more frequent as time went on. Now in 2013 the cruise control lights blink 99.99% of the time and cannot be reset by turning vehicle off. The cruise control now does not work at all even on the rare occasion when the light is not blinking.

Scanned vehicle codes were: P1715, P1574 and P720. All three codes are for the transmission speed sensors. Primary and secondary speed sensors. Both were replaced because of burnning or rubbing due to improper spacing. New spacers were added along with new sensors. Total cost for parts only were- $445.13! additional fees were the labor and sensor washer, bringing the whole invoice to $762.83! this was a fault from the manufacturer.

On 01/25/2010, I was driving from work and while I attempted to stop to a light, the brakes failed to respond. I couldn't control the car anymore. The car slid, and hit another car in the back, but because the speed was low, the damage was minor. After that, the car was frozen ; the police came and the car was towed to a nearby autobody shop; after the outside damage was fixed, the car was transported to a Nissan dealership because the car was not drivable.(the soft ware was messed up, as the dealer told me).at the Nissan dealership, the software was reset. They couldn't guarantee though that this incident will not happen again. I contacted the manufacturer and explained that this car had a general inspection less than 2 months prior the accident and the annual revision less than3 weeks prior the accident, and now, even the car was fixed the Nissan dealer cannot guarantee that the system will not fail again. The manufacturer decided to sent the car for another inspection to the same Nissan dealer that couldn't guarantee the safety of my car. At this point, I am afraid driving the car.

While driving 60 mph the car jerked forward as if there was a hard shift, the rpms dropped, and vehicle started to decelerate. I thought the cruise control disengaged so I pressed the gas pedal and I was still decelerating. I pulled to the side of the highway. Within 30 smoke started coming out from underneath the hood on the drivers side and through the vents. I got out of the car and went to safe place on the side of the road and turned to see the inside of the car completely filled with black smoke. Within a minute the flames came out from under the hood of the car. Within 10 minutes the car was completely engulfed in flames. This was a rental vehicle that was just completing a round trip of 180 miles. It was approximately 93 degrees with a heat index of 100. He vehicle was rented through enterprise rent-A-car.
