First of the dashboard not painting job..i dont know what cause but im assuming it the sun. Lately, it been doing to alot nissan car. Now some dealership offering into a packages. Therefore, it a known issue. How can we move forward by offering a better quality when this can be an issue. The older car has better quality than newer car. Now, it crappy and cheap material being used.

All of the paint on my car is peeling. It is only five years old, this should not be happening. I know this is a common problem in 2008 Nissans and it needs to be seriously addressed as it is extremely ugly and effecting the value of my car.

The car was only 4 years old when the paint started to oxidize and crack on the hood, top, and trunk. It looks horrible, like a 10-12 year old vehicle. I purchased the vehicle new off the lot at Peoria Nissan on Bell Rd Sept 2008. It came with the ZakTec paint sealant product to protect the paint. The paint looks horrible, faded and cracked. ZakTec was worthless. Peoria Nissan doesn't want to honor the guaranty. They sent pictures back to Nissan, who denied coverage due to the AZ sun. (The AZ sun doesn't do that in only 4 years with an upgraded ZakTec sealant with consistent 6 month re-applications pursuant to the program.) Based on my experience, ZakTec is useless and the paint on the 2008 Nissan Altima is poor poor quality. Worse, neither ZacTek nor Nissan stood behind their product.

Excessive paint chipping on the hood of my Altima Coupe. "Car guys" that I talk to say it must be a manufacturing problem. I walked around a used Nissan lot, the 2008's all have the same paint chipping on the hood, 2007, not so much.

Dealer told me they were rock chips, but as previous complainer said, I drive this car in the same areas as all my other cars I have owned, and I have never seen this extent of stone chips. Of note, I don't drive this car on roads that would typically seen stones.

From the dealer, no worries though, because the hood is aluminum. So sure, no rust, but it looks like crap.

I live in PA, so yes, we get snow and the State puts anti-skid, cinders, etc. on the roads - but I never had a hood chip so easily - I have owned a 2004 Nissan Altima and a Dodge Intrepid, both have the aero dynamic hoods - and I lived in the same place as I do now and traveled the same roads, etc.....I purchased my car in June 08, it isn't even a year old and you should see the hood - it will need repainted - Surely, they must have missed a top coat or clear coat of some type -
