The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that upon attempting to close the driver's side rear door, the door failed to latch securely. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the door latch. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V331000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 111,000.

The consumer stated the vehicle mold growing on the passenger side carpet. The engine would rev up when depressing the gas pedal, but would not move. The car door would unlock independently and fly open while driving or stopped. The transmission/etc experienced a failure.
