CarComplaints.com Notes: For the third year in a row, the 3rd generation Focus is experiencing massive transmission problems.

Most notably owners keep complaining about how there's bad hesitation and jerking when starting from a stop. This isn't the result of an old, worn out part. In fact, the average mileage it's reported to us is just over 15k miles.

I bought my first Ford in September 2015 brand new it had just arrived in the lot when I purchased it... Little did I know a month later I would be experiencing jerking, and shaking. Any time I would start to drive when I was stopped at a stop light or a stop sign it was jerk and kick back like it didn't want to go. My dad has the same car and he was having the same problem he told me it was normal so I got used to it. It got worse and worse as the days passed and finally I decided to take it in before my standard warranty was up.

They had to order the part and told me it was on backorder so it would take up to 6 months to get the part. Two weeks after they ordered it I called and asked if the part was in because I did not feel safe driving the car and OF COURSE the part was in it had actually been in for a week. So I took my car in they kept it in for a week I got the car and it was amazing did not jerk or shake.

NOW February 2016 comes and my car does the same thing but it happens when I'm driving slow in traffic, it shakes and acts like it does not want to go. I really do not recommend this car for anyone! When I was getting my rental car there was a couple there and they have taken their car in 5 times! And now again I'm taking it in today for a recall.

I purchase this car September 19, 2014 after driving the car for five days I return to the dealer to complain about the acceleration of the vehicle. The salesman said it was normal and would go away with time. In February 2015 I was involved in a accident because of poor performance. The vehicle wouldn't accelerate when I press the gas.

July 2015 I was driving home after picking up my son in downtown Chicago merging on to the expressway in the center ramp and my car almost lost total power and we could have been seriously injured of killed. I immediately called the dealership and explained the problem they had a back log of complaints and scheduled me for September 18, 2015 to look at my car again.

I can no longer use my car to pick my son up in Chicago and I can't drive on the expressway to get around because I fear having accident. Ford dealership said the part is on national back order. I've lost time and money dealing with this issue I will never buy another Ford for myself and as the Fleet Manager for my company Fords will no longer a option for us. This is poor customer service they knew it was a problems and the still allowed the vehicle to be sold as is broken.

when I purchased this car (NEW), i expected to be receiving a car with no problems and smooth ride as it appeared when I test drove it.

After a couple of months of driving it, when I would take off from a start position it would jerk a little. I thought it was just because i took off maybe to fast. NO! It continued getting worse each time. I took it back to the Ford dealership where i purchased it and they reset the duel clutches. It worked for a couple of days then it went back to the beginning jerks. I went on a company trip to PA. about 600 miles and drive was good until I got back to drop of coworkers and it jerked us so hard the car almost stalled.

Called car dealership again to make appointment and he said unfortunately this will be an on going problem. He will place new clutches in vehicle, but it will only be good for 5 to 7 thousand miles. and Ford has extended the transmission warranty on it.

Well I went to trade in the car and the other dealership will not take it as trade in because they would not make their money back off of it. Their mechanic said the transmission is going out on my NEW car.. A YEAR Old! I want get out of my loan agreement so i can go purchase a car with no problems when NEW
