problem #2

Altima SV 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 30,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I developed a bad vibration in the steering wheel at 30,000 miles. It got worse around 45,000. My tires wore out sooner than expected and I thought maybe that was the problem. Bought new tires, rotation, alignment, and balanced them and it helped almost get rid of it. But now at almost 54,000 miles it's back where I started. You can see the steering wheel vibrating back and forth going down the road. This is only one of many complaints about this car which I bought BRAND NEW in July of 2015, but now at 54,000 miles it drives like my old 2009 one that had 200,000 miles. I regret buying this cheap hunk and I will be getting rid of it ASAP.

Altima S 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 15,385 miles

apparently this has been a problem for Altima's the past several years . there are numerous complaints on Nissan forums etc. I mentioned it at 10000 mile service and was told it was the characteristic of the altimas. Took it different dealership this week for 15000 mile service, this time got it documented. they said Nissan was looking for A fix? they would call me when they found out what to do? they are hoping I will just deal with it, But that aint happening. In NC the lemon law is void after 24000 miles so it fixin to set a while. My problem is like lots of other folks,,,,under a load the car has an awful vibration and at around 2000 rpm. Sounds like a busted speaker. I am no dummy, IT IS a drivetrain problem that they don't want to admit to. Dealership said Nissan told them it was exhaust pipe.. it is not. other web sites people say dealership said alternator, flat spots on tires etc. They need to bite the bullet and tell the truth. I sincerely believe its the cvt transmission...( Same that's in atvs). Anyway if any of you have this problem please send me email. stick together and maybe we can get results.. Like I said dealership told me that Nissan had put all their theories on hold.

Update from Nov 22, 2016: never does it in the warm months, only when its cold.. NISSAN Engineers TAKE NOTE!!!!!! IM gonna go get me a Toyota.
