CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.
For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.
Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2013 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

Takata recall. Plus battery gap that can cause ignition / fire hazard. Honda said they will do this recall at carson Honda (Nov 1, 2017), however one of window started malfunctioning after recall performed. Not sure if recall is performed either.
Honda sensor not fix causing electrical to heat up and smell of electrical wire burn and goes away this happens randomly and usually when I activate turn signal and Honda is not able to fix the problem I have taken it to Honda dealer service department and they say they fix the problem but problem keeps coming back
My 2013 Honda Accord ex started experiencing problems with intermittent starting around 45,000 miles. The dealership is aware of the starter problem, but charged me over $800 to repair it with a new starter button. I was told without repair this problem would get worse till the car would not start at all.
My starter is being replaced for intermittent starting issues. My mechanic very experienced and I have been using for years made the diagnosis. I was present for the diagnostic test. My car is a 2013 Honda Accord with less then 44000 miles. I have owned 3 Honda's all still in the family. I had a 2002 with the original starter, which my daughter now owns and I have a 2010 with almost 100,000 with the original starter. Something is wrong when you have to change a starter on a 4 yr old car with low mileage. I have also had to change the battery in the 2013 last January with less then 40,000 miles on it. I changes the battery myself.
The car will not start intermittently. Sometimes it can take 10-30 minutes to try and start it with the key. You will turn the key and it clicks but nothing engages. We had a new key made thinking it may be the chip in the key causing it not to start. That was not the case. Took it in to the Honda dealership today after my daughter being stranded yesterday because it wouldn't crank. Service tech says its the starter. Obviously these 2013 Honda have an issue, it's all over google and youtube with many people having the same issue and all low mileage.
Tried to start the car. The vehicle just lights up will not start by pushing button. Just clicking and lights inside flickering. This problem is causing me to miss work. Got in this car to go to work but will not start.

So far no action has been taken. Now fall season is about to happen. I am concerning about safety of my vehicle about electrical short circuit result in fire. I checked with Honda dealer last week. Car caught fire starting in engine compartment. Was stopped at a stop light, in left turn lane, when smoke was first noticed. I got out of the car and fire progressed in a few minutes to where flames were coming out from under the hood. Local fire company extinguished the fire. Car appears to be a total loss. Safety recall NHTSA 17V-418 was only recently received and had not yet gotten the car to the dealer.
Recently had the recall for the battery sensor done on the vehicle. Next day the car has intermittent problems starting. Returned to dealer battery tests good alternator tests good. Was told needs new starter and that Honda is aware of starter problems this model. Vehicle will work fine one day starts fine then next day takes five to ten tries to start. Problem was induced only after bms sensor recal. Never had issue prior Honda tells me its not the sensor
