CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Nissan Altima has multiple problem trends including the CVT transmission, and now that this model is out of warranty, it earns our "Avoid Like The Plague" badge.

Owners complain about vibration and transmission failure related to the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), a whining noise from the power steering pump, and constant windshield problems that appear to be the result of poor design.

Be warned: the 2014 & 2015 Nissan Altima appears to share these same problems.

2013 Altima 18,000 miles. I brought into dealer for the a few complaints. One of them was the visor wont stay up, keeps falling down, its defective. They fixed the other problem with back up camera defective. The dealer didn't put my trunk back together, gave me the car back like that. Replaced my headlight that was dim. They checked my visor and said nothing was wrong. No repair on my visor which sucks! It still falls down in my face. When I picked the car up I thought it would be replaced. I need the car so I took it back. They fixed 2 outta 3 things and left my trunk apart. Thinking back now I have had some issues with this car. Some fixed some not. I'm not going to buy another Nissan I had enough,. Now My AC is broken by the way out of warranty at 26K miles 4 yrs old.
