CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Nissan Altima has multiple problem trends including the CVT transmission, and now that this model is out of warranty, it earns our "Avoid Like The Plague" badge.

Owners complain about vibration and transmission failure related to the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), a whining noise from the power steering pump, and constant windshield problems that appear to be the result of poor design.

Be warned: the 2014 & 2015 Nissan Altima appears to share these same problems.

Haven't had this problem fixed yet as it is intermittent. Here's what happens. As you are driving the car the fan comes on full blast even if you have it shut off. If you have the a/c running on a low speed, the fan will start blowing full blast all by itself. You cannot make it stop. I have to turn the fan to blow on your feet so it isn't blowing in your face! The dealership says bring it in for diagnostics, but gives no guarantees. They said it may be a problem with the ECU ($$$). I'll have to take the plunge at some point to figure this out, but until then I keep the fan blowing on my feet!
